Basketball Recap: Smithson Valley's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Smithson Valley had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged the Veterans Memorial Patriots out 43-41. This was a revenge game for the Rangers: when they faced off against the Patriots back in January, they had to take a 47-32 defeat.

Cyanna Cavazos was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 20 points. Aliya Murphy was another key player, putting up eight points.

Smithson Valley's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-23. As for Veterans Memorial, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 18 of their last 20 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-27 record this season.

As of now, neither Smithson Valley nor Veterans Memorial have any future games scheduled.
