Basketball Recap: Somerset Takes a Loss

Somerset was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrizo Springs Wildcats. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 65-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ysella Hinojosa was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Andrea Rangel, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Somerset's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Carrizo Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Somerset will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pleasanton at 11:15 a.m. on December 31st. Carrizo Springs will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Pearsall at 11:15 a.m. on December 31st.
