Softball Recap: Hinsdale South Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hinsdale South ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with an 18-15 victory over the Willowbrook Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 13-3 loss.

Lauren Bishop and Kayla Buckels-Meen did most of the damage at the plate: Bishop went 3-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Buckels-Meen went 4-for-6 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI. Those seven RBI gave Bishop a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Diaz-Day, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Hinsdale South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Hinsdale South's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-22-1. As for Willowbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hinsdale South beat the Warriors by a score of 18-15 on Saturday.
