Basketball Recap: Maple Heights Takes a Loss

Maple Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Lutheran East Falcons, falling 87-40. The Mustangs lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 0-0 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Maple Heights lost, don't look at Tristan Coles. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Mike Banks was another key player, putting up eight points.

Maple Heights' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lutheran East, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coincidentally, Maple Heights and Lutheran East will both be playing Shaw the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Falcons will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
