Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Range). Their defense stepped up to hand the McKinley Red Dragons an 8-0 shutout on Thursday. It was an even better day for Mason Naples as he scored three goals for his team.

South Range now has a winning record of 8-7. As for McKinley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

South Range and McKinley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Raiders (ranked 347th) will meet Hubbard (ranked 168th) at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, McKinley will challenge Salem at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (548 vs. 165).
