Basketball Game Preview: Stevenson Pirates vs. Watsonville Wildcatz

Stevenson and Watsonville are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Stevenson Pirates will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Watsonville Wildcatz at 7:00 p.m.

On Monday, Stevenson didn't have quite enough to beat Monte Vista Christian and fell 54-52. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 22-11 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Watsonville was able to grind out a solid victory over Hollister on Monday, taking the game 62-50.

Watsonville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.9 points per game. As for Stevenson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Stevenson took a serious blow against Watsonville in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 73-42. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Watsonville's Max Aceves, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 21 points.
