Baseball Recap: Archbishop Riordan Comes Up Short

If Archbishop Riordan was feeling good fresh off their 12-5 takedown of Aragon last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Archbishop Riordan Crusaders fell just short of the University Red Devils by a score of 9-7 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Crusaders have suffered since March 12, 2024.

Archbishop Riordan got a good showing from Aiden Pavon, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Chase Oliver was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Aguilar-Montenegro, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Archbishop Riordan's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
