Basketball Recap: Yelm Comes Up Short

Yelm was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 57-25 loss at the hands of the Black Hills Wolves. The Tornados were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-8.

Black Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kiley McMahon, who went 8 for 14 on her way to 24 points and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which McMahon has scored at least a third of Black Hills' points. Tyler Venable was another key player, putting up 16 points and five boards.

Yelm's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Black Hills, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Yelm will venture away from home to face off against Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Black Hills, they will welcome Hoquiam at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Black Hills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.5 points per game this season.
