Basketball Recap: Ivan Shen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cupertino over Fremont

Cupertino lost against Fremont back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cupertino Pioneers fell 45-33 to the Fremont Firebirds. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cupertino lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ivan Shen, who posted 14 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Shen a new career-high in blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Houma Yoshimochi, who earned seven points.

Cupertino's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Fremont, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-9.

Cupertino didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-46 defeat against Saratoga on the 29th. As for Fremont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-40 loss against Monta Vista on the 29th.
