Softball Recap: Freeport Comes Up Short

Freeport lost to Lake Region back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Falcons came up short against the Lakers, falling 7-1. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Freeport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Lake Region, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Freeport will challenge York at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Region, they will host Poland at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
