Softball Recap: Seymour Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fulton last Thursday, Seymour came back down to earth. The Seymour Eagles took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knoxville Central Bobcats on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 13-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2022.

Landry Terry made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Ella Rainbolt also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Seymour's loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Knoxville Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Seymour will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cocke County at 6:00 p.m. As for Knoxville Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Knoxville Central Bobcats take on Powell Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
