Basketball Game Preview: Denver Academy Mustangs vs. Gilpin County Eagles

Denver Academy is 2-8 against Gilpin County since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Denver Academy Mustangs will challenge the Gilpin County Eagles at 9:00 a.m. Denver Academy has given up an average of 60.5 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Last Thursday, Denver Academy came up short against Clear Creek and fell 64-51.

Meanwhile, Gilpin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 42nd straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against Union Colony Prep, falling 109-31. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 68-20.

Gilpin County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Denver Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Everything came up roses for Denver Academy against Gilpin County in their previous matchup back in January, as the team secured a 71-26 victory. Does Denver Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gilpin County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
