Basketball Recap: Ocean Springs Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pass Christian last Tuesday, Ocean Springs came back down to earth. The Ocean Springs Greyhounds took a 41-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Williamson Lions on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Greyhounds came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 84th in Mississippi, while the Lions are ranked 333rd in Alabama).

Among those leading the charge was Paydon Davis, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in January.

Ocean Springs has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Williamson, their record is now 2-7.

Ocean Springs and Houston will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on December 28th. As for Williamson, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mobile Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
