Baseball Game Preview: West Anchorage Eagles vs. Chugiak Mustangs

West Anchorage is 1-9 against Chugiak since June of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will host the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Anchorage is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Service, who was ranked second at the time (West Anchorage was ranked 14th). The Eagles lost 11-5 to the Cougars on Tuesday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, Chugiak came up short against Ketchikan on Saturday, falling 8-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chugiak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Lux, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Lux's first of the season.

West Anchorage's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Chugiak, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
