Volleyball Recap: Madison-Ridgeland Academy Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Madison-Ridgeland Academy faced Lamar in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Raiders. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-22, 21-25, 25-22.

Emerson Dorr paced Madison-Ridgeland Academy's offense, picking up 17 kills. Dorr were helped by Keira Hariel and Ella Eatherly, who contributed 18 assists each. Eatherly was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3. As for Lamar, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Madison-Ridgeland Academy will square off against Jackson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on September 4. As for Lamar, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Heritage Academy on the 28th.
