Basketball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Elkhart challenged Cheyenne Wells on Friday. The Elkhart Wildcats lost to the Cheyenne Wells Tigers on the road by a 66-49 margin. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 32-16 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Corey Hill had a dynamite game for Cheyenne Wells, dropping a double-double on 42 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hill has scored at least a third of Cheyenne Wells' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Scheler, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds.

Elkhart's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Cheyenne Wells, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Elkhart didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-52 defeat against Eads on the 14th. As for Cheyenne Wells, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-35 loss against Stanton County on the 14th.
