The Valley Vista Monsoon will face off against the Chandler Wolves at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Valley Vista will be strutting in after a win while Chandler will be coming in after a defeat.

Valley Vista gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over Mesa. The Monsoon haven't had any issues with the Jackrabbits recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Chandler fell victim to Desert Vista and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jameson Harris was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Chandler saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Murphy, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Murphy's first of the season.

Valley Vista pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Chandler, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
