Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Panthers vs. Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks

The Mt. Pleasant Panthers will head out to take on the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mt. Pleasant has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Mid-Prairie will arrive with three straight wins.

Last Friday, Mt. Pleasant ended up a good deal behind Fort Madison and lost 62-44.

Meanwhile, Mid-Prairie was able to grind out a solid victory over West Liberty on Friday, taking the game 46-39. Given the Golden Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Comets are ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Mid-Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

Mt. Pleasant was able to grind out a solid victory over Mid-Prairie in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, winning 66-59. Does Mt. Pleasant have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mid-Prairie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
