Recap: Westover Patriots vs. Hardaway Hawks

After a string of four wins, the Westover Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They were dealt a 86-28 defeat at the hands of Hardaway. Westover has not had much luck with Hardaway recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Westover had strong showings from Jada Landers, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Chasity Green, who scored eight points. Landers has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played.

Westover struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hardaway pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.

Mikayla Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hardaway, going 8 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. La?niya Meeks was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Westover now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Hardaway, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Westover will take on Cairo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cairo is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Hardaway, they will head out on the road to square off against Shaw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Saturday.
