Downs made his presence known in Ripon's 65-62 victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Dawson Downs stepped things up a notch to give Ripon the 'W'. Escalon had no answer to Downs as he almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Downs and Ripon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Ripon got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Huskies, probably because Downs had a solid game then too: he scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
