Basketball Recap: Academy of Richmond County Takes a Loss

Academy of Richmond County played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-30 defeat at the hands of the Laney Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Musketeers have lost by exactly 33 points.

Despite the loss, Academy of Richmond County saw an underclassman step up: freshman A'Ja Richardson dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jeanise Mealing was another key player, putting up six points and five boards.

Academy of Richmond County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Laney, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Academy of Richmond County will face off against Evans at 5:20 p.m. on Friday. As for Laney, they will take on Greenbrier in a tournament on the 28th.
