Weddington is 9-1 against Cuthbertson since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Weddington Warriors will challenge the Cuthbertson Cavaliers at 8:00 p.m. Weddington is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Last Tuesday, Weddington strolled past Porter Ridge with points to spare, taking the game 67-52. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Pirates are ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cuthbertson hadn't done well against Marvin Ridge recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Cuthbertson came out on top against Marvin Ridge by a score of 67-57.

Weddington's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Cuthbertson, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.

Weddington took their victory against Cuthbertson in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 73-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Weddington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
