Softball Game Preview: James Logan Colts vs. Carondelet Cougars

The James Logan Colts will head out to square off against the Carondelet Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James Logan will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

James Logan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over Windsor. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since March 29th.

Nevaeh Hall-Flores was excellent, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Parras, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: James Logan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Meanwhile, while Carondelet put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Archie Williams. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Peregrine Falcons.

Maia Scholtens looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Arielle Henriquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

James Logan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carondelet, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.
