Softball Recap: Puyallup Wins Going Away Against Bonney Lake

The Puyallup Vikings got the win against the Bonney Lake Panthers on Friday by a conclusive 16-5. Considering the Vikings have won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kiera Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Paisley Jamison was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mack Hardesty, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Puyallup kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Puyallup's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7. As for Bonney Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

As of now, neither Puyallup nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
