Basketball Game Preview: Mount Everett Regional Eagles vs. McCann Tech Hornets

The Mount Everett Regional Eagles will head out to square off against the McCann Tech Hornets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Everett Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully McCann Tech likes a good challenge.

If Mount Everett Regional beats McCann Tech with 65 points on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Eagles simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hampden Charter School of Science 65-30. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since January 12, 2024, but that streak is no more.

McCann Tech has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 60-48 to Mount Greylock Regional on Monday.

Mount Everett Regional pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for McCann Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Mount Everett Regional strolled past McCann Tech when the teams last played back in January by a score of 49-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
