Basketball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Harvest Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by the Victory Christian Academy Patriots 80-24. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1456th, while the Patriots are ranked 594th).

Victory Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caiden Shetter, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and ten assists. The dominant performance also gave Shetter a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Jaylen Donald, who went 9 for 15 to rack up 20 points and four steals.

Harvest Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Victory Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season.

Coming up, Harvest Christian Academy will take on Sacred Heart at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will face off against Wichita Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wichita Christian is on a four-game streak of home wins, Victory Christian Academy a 16-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
