Preview: Brunswick Railroaders vs. Clear Spring Blazers
Brunswick has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They and the Clear Spring Blazers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Brunswick came up short against the Lions and fell 42-33. Brunswick has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
The losing side was boosted by Andie Welsh, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds. Welsh is crushing the block category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maddy Hoffman, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Clear Spring's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by Catoctin 55-23. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, Clear Spring couldn't push the score so high this time.
Brunswick dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Clear Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Brunswick came up short against the Blazers in their previous matchup on Monday, falling 62-57. Can Brunswick avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
