Basketball Recap: Hamilton County Takes a Loss

Hamilton County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edwards County Lions. The Foxes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 47-36.

Hamilton County's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Edwards County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Hamilton County and Edwards County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Hamilton County (ranked 103rd) will meet Christ Our Rock Lutheran (ranked 345th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Similarly, Edwards County will face off against Carmi-White County at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday up 191 places (129 vs. 320).
