Basketball Recap: Richlands Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Richlands took on Jacksonville on Saturday. The Richlands Wildcats took a 74-55 bruising from the Jacksonville Cardinals. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Tafari Martin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Jacksonville, going 13 for 17 on his way to 33 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those 33 points gave Martin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ra-Shawn Echols, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds.

Richlands' loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Jacksonville, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Richlands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-42 victory against Dixon on the 30th. As for Jacksonville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-61 defeat against White Oak on the 30th.
