Volleyball Recap: Christian Takes a Loss

The Christian Patriots came up short against the Maranatha Christian Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Christian ultimately came up short, they really made Maranatha Christian work, particularly in the third set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-16, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Christian still got an impressive performance from McKade Mathson, who had 19 digs and five assists. Mathson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Pheasant, who had nine assists and seven digs.

Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Maranatha Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Christian will square off against Mount Miguel at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maranatha Christian, they will face off against High Tech CV at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Eagles' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Bruins have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
