Baseball Recap: Hamilton Heights Comes Up Short

Hamilton Heights had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-13 to make it five. They came up short against the McCutcheon Mavericks, falling 14-0. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Mavericks when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for McCutcheon, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. Considering they have won seven contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For McCutcheon's part, Jake Winger was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs. That's the most runs Winger has posted since back in April.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton Heights will host Benton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McCutcheon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Logansport at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
