Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Classical Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Pinnacle Classical Academy proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 25) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hickory Christian Academy Knights, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since April 25, 2024.

Tyler Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Johnson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Eli Stroud was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Jake McNeily was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

The victory (which was Pinnacle Classical Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Hickory Christian Academy, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle Classical Academy will challenge Piedmont Community Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pinnacle Classical Academy is facing Piedmont Community Charter at the right time seeing as Piedmont Community Charter is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hickory Christian Academy, they will take on Westminster Catawba Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Westminster Catawba Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
