Basketball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Lakeland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Weaubleau Tigers. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Weaubleau, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.

Lakeland has already played their next matchup, a 41-39 defeat against Fair Play on the 21st. As for Weaubleau, they will challenge Macks Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Macks Creek will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Weaubleau surely won't give up without a fight.
