Football Recap: Wake Prep Academy Skates Past American Leadership Academy-Johnston with Ease

Wake Prep Academy won the last time they faced American Leadership Academy-Johnston and things went their way on Friday too. The Guardians simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Patriots 49-14. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Guardians had established a 28-point advantage.

Wake Prep Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Justin Battle and Noah Taylor.

When it comes to explaining why American Leadership Academy-Johnston lost, don't look at Anthony Jimenez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 254 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Jimenez is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 162 every time he's taken the field this season. Cam Thaxton helped out on the ground, rushing for 85 yards.

The win got Wake Prep Academy back to even at 2-2. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Wake Prep Academy will welcome North Edgecombe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for American Leadership Academy-Johnston, they will venture away from home to face off against East Carteret at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
