Hart County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Madison County Red Raiders by a score of 2-0. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Red Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Hart County easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-20.

Coley Phillips paced Hart County's offense, picking up eight kills. Phillips got some help from Josee Fleming and her 16 assists. Phillips also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Alaynah Kennedy, racking up two apiece.

Despite the defeat, Madison County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lillian Conley had nine digs and three aces. Conley is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Emma Pratz also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Madison County's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-2.

Coincidentally, Hart County and Madison County will both be playing Elbert County the next time they take the court. The Red Raiders will head out to face the Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
