Softball Recap: Patton Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Patton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Mitchell Mountaineers on Monday as the Patton Panthers made off with a 20-2 win. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marleigh Carswell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Carswell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Patton let Jolann Buff and Ellie Shuping run wild. Buff scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-4, while Shuping went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave Buff a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Redwine, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Patton back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Patton will be playing at home against West Caldwell at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mitchell, they are taking a road trip to take on Hendersonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
