Recap: North Miami Beach Chargers vs. Homestead Broncos

If the North Miami Beach Chargers were feeling good off their 40-11 takedown of the American Patriots last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Miami Beach fell 34-22 to Homestead on Monday. If North Miami Beach hoped to take revenge for the 40-18 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

Despite the loss, North Miami Beach still got an impressive performance from Vanejia Bryant, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Bryant continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Henderson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Miami Beach struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Homestead pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.

Among those leading the charge was Kelis Durham, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals. Durham is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Nefertari Soloman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds.

North Miami Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Homestead, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

North Miami Beach's road trip will continue as they head out to face Northwestern at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Janyiah Mickens and Henderson. Homestead does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
