Softball Recap: Martinsville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Garrison

Martinsville scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Garrison Bulldogs by a score of 17-16. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Mckenzie Nichols made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Locke, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Martinsville's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Garrison, they moved to 1-6 with that win, which also ended their 17-game losing streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Martinsville will take on Timpson at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Garrison, they will face off against Shelbyville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
