Softball Recap: Rouse Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salado, Rouse was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Godley Wildcats by a score of 7-2.

Blakely Barber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Madilynn George was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Delaney Vannoy was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Rouse was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Godley only posted a batting average of .125.

Rouse's record now sits at 3-4-1. As for Godley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-4.

Rouse didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-12 tie against Greenwood on the 28th. As for Godley, they have also already played their next game, a 10-2 win against Castleberry on the 1st.
