Soccer Game Preview: Klein vs. Magnolia West

The Klein Bearkats will venture away from home to square off against the Magnolia West Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Klein's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Klein fell victim to Tomball and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Magnolia West beat Tomball 3-1 on Friday. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th in Texas, while the Cougars are ranked 297th in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Magnolia West's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Klein, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Klein skirted past Magnolia West 3-2 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Klein since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
