While Mifflin County's win against Altoona wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Mountain Lions on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since May 14, 2024.

Malaina Maxwell was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Ava Baker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Mifflin County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Altoona, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Mifflin County will head out to take on West Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Altoona, they will host Central at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
