Montgomery County came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Mason County Royals by a score of 86-73. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Royals are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery County's victory bumped their record up to 22-10. As for Mason County, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-14.

Looking ahead, Montgomery County will be playing in front of their home fans against George Rogers Clark at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. George Rogers Clark knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Montgomery County likes a good challenge. Mason County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
