Basketball Recap: Dunkirk Victorious

Dunkirk won the last time they faced Frewsburg and things went their way on Saturday too. The Dunkirk Marauders walked away with a 70-62 victory over the Frewsburg Bears.

Frewsburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kael Collver, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 boards. With that strong performance, Collver is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Trent Lewis, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 17 points and six steals.

Dunkirk now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Frewsburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunkirk and Forestville Central will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Dunkirk has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three matches. As for Frewsburg, they will square off against Silver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
