Tucson High Magnet School is a perfect 3-0 against Cesar Chavez since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Badgers will look to defend their home field against the Champions at 6:00 p.m. Tucson High Magnet School is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
Tucson High Magnet School came out on top against Desert View on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run second inning. The Badgers took their matchup against the Jaguars 8-5.
Juan Hernandez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Alan Krimpe was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jorge Castro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Tucson High Magnet School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Cesar Chavez made easy work of Camelback on Thursday and carried off a 16-1 victory. Considering the Champions have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Carlos Leon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. He has become a key player for Cesar Chavez: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Pedroza, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Cesar Chavez is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Tucson High Magnet School, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.
Tucson High Magnet School was able to grind out a solid win over Cesar Chavez when the teams last played back in April of 2019, winning 5-0. Will the Badgers repeat their success, or do the Champions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
