Baseball Recap: South Panola Makes It Four in a Row at Home

South Panola won against Lake Cormorant last Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Tigers beat the Olive Branch Conquistadors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Conquistadors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Anson Bright was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Carlos Robinson Jr was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Owen Roebuck was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

South Panola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

South Panola pushed their record up to 12-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. As for Olive Branch, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

South Panola will have a chance to go back-to-back against Olive Branch: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
