Volleyball Recap: Rancho Verde Comes Up Short

Rancho Verde came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Poly Bears, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 1st.

Rancho Verde was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-12, 25-23.

Rancho Verde's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-12. As for Poly, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Rancho Verde will take on Savanna in a tournament on Saturday. As for Poly, they will face off against Hillcrest at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
