Preview: Northland Christian Cougars vs. First Baptist Saints
Northland Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the First Baptist Saints at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Northland Christian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down Central Texas Christian 28-10. Northland Christian pushed the score to 28-3 by the end of the third, a deficit Central Texas Christian cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, First Baptist put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 62-14 win over Temple Christian on the road. Fans of First Baptist have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Northland Christian has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 7-4 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for First Baptist, their victory bumped their record up to 11-0.
