Basketball Recap: Knox Takes a Loss

Knox lost against Rochester back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Knox Redskins lost to the Rochester Zebras at home by a 47-28 margin. While losing is never fun, the Redskins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Zebras are ranked 68th).

Leading Rochester to victory were Ella Mccarter and Aubrey Wilson. Mccarter almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine assists, while Wilson went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Mccarter a new career-high in assists. Jadyn Field was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

Knox has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Rochester, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knox will host Bremen at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bremen will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Knox surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rochester, they will welcome Wabash at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Anna Daughtry and Mccarter.
