Softball Recap: Madison County Extends Winning Streak to Three

Madison County entered their tilt with Skyline on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Vikings a 15-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 17 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Carley Miller looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Madison County got a massive performance out of Kylie Moore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Moore has posted since back in March. Mylee Hill was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.

Madison County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Madison County's win bumped their record up to 30-10. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.

Madison County will venture away from home to square off against Westminster Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Skyline, they will square off against Bob Jones at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
