Basketball Recap: Sunnybrook Christian Takes a Loss

Sunnybrook Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors and fell 47-18. The Lions lost against the Warriors in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 29-22 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Sunnybrook Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Davina Crowl posted five points.

Annapolis Christian Academy had a senior duo take command as Shaitali Olvera put up 13 points and Hannah Hoffman had 12 points. Those 13 points gave Olvera a new career-high. Kenzie Stice was another key player, putting up seven points.

Sunnybrook Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-11.

Sunnybrook Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 38-29 defeat against McCauley Christian Academy on the 11th. Annapolis Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
